How to Find Your Ring Size

Your ring size is determined by the inner circumference of the ring, measured in millimetres. Below are three simple ways to find yours at home — and how to convert it to US and UK sizes.

Visit us for a precise fit

We highly encourage all our clients to make an appointment with us to have their ring size measured properly and precisely before placing an order or making a purchase. This ensures the most comfortable and accurate fit for your piece.

Before you measure

  • • Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest.
  • • Avoid measuring when your hands are cold — fingers shrink in cooler temperatures.
  • • Measure the exact finger you intend to wear the ring on, on the correct hand.
  • • The ring must slide over your knuckle — measure the knuckle too if it is wider than the base of your finger.
  • • Measure two or three times to confirm a consistent result.

Method 1: Measure a ring you already own

  1. Choose a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.
  2. Place it flat on a table and measure the inner diameter in millimetres, edge to edge.
  3. Match that diameter to the chart below to find your size.

Method 2: String or paper strip

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string, roughly 10 cm long.
  2. Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger — comfortable, not tight.
  3. Mark where the strip overlaps and lay it flat against a ruler.
  4. The length in millimetres is your inner circumference — match it to the chart below.

Method 3: Convert circumference to diameter

If you only have the circumference, divide it by π (3.14) to get the inner diameter. For example, 54.4 mm ÷ 3.14 ≈ 17.3 mm, which corresponds to a US 7.

International Size Conversion

US sizes advance in 0.5 increments. EU (ISO 8653) ring size is the inner circumference in millimetres — so the EU size and circumference values are the same number. UK equivalents are shown as decimals where a size falls between two letters (e.g. N.5 sits halfway between N and O).

Between two sizes?

  • • If you fall between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.
  • • Wider bands fit more snugly — go up a half size for bands above 6 mm.
  • • Eternity and full-set bands cannot be resized, so precise measurement matters most for these.
  • • Visit us for professional sizing with our precision ring gauges.
