Jade Bangle Size Guide
Jade bangles are sized by their inner diameter in millimetres — the measurement across the inside of the bangle. Because a solid jade bangle cannot be resized or opened, getting this right is essential.
Try before you buy
We highly encourage all our clients to make an appointment with us so we can measure your hand and let you try the bangle on properly before ordering or purchasing. A solid jade bangle must pass over the widest part of your hand, and only a fitting confirms true comfort.
Method 1: Measure your hand (recommended)
- Bring your thumb across to touch your little finger, as if slipping a bangle on — this creates the narrowest possible hand shape.
- Wrap a soft measuring tape or a strip of paper around the widest part of the hand in that position, across the knuckles including the thumb joint.
- Mark the overlap and measure the length in millimetres — this is your hand circumference.
- Match it to the chart below to find your inner diameter, or divide the circumference by π (3.14) and add 2 – 3 mm for comfort.
Method 2: Measure a bangle you already wear
- Lay the bangle flat on a table.
- Measure the inside opening straight across from inner edge to inner edge, at its widest point.
- That measurement in millimetres is your inner diameter — order the same size, or 1 mm up for a looser feel.

Choosing your fit
- • Traditional fit: snug, sits close to the wrist and passes over the hand with a little effort — the classic way jade bangles are worn.
- • Comfort fit: 1 – 2 mm larger, slides on easily and moves freely on the wrist.
- • Hands swell in heat and later in the day — measure in the evening for a realistic fit.
- • A little hand lotion or a plastic bag over the hand helps a snug bangle slip on safely.
- • Solid jadeite cannot be resized and will chip or crack if forced — never squeeze a bangle that is clearly too small.
